Universally Accessible Treehouse and Nature Interpretive Center
A universally accessible treehouse allows all children, even those
confined to wheelchairs, to experience the thrill of "climbing"
into a treehouse; of being up with the birds, feeling the trees sway,
and seeing the world from a new vantage point. Not only is it a cool
place for kids to enjoy and play, it serves as a nature interpretive
center and/or trailhead which will help deepen their understanding of
the natural world around them. Having an accessible treehouse truly
enriches the experience of our families as they relax, connect with nature,
and enjoy a much needed break from the complex stresses related to caring
for a child with a serious illness or disability.
The finished treehouse is even more wonderful than we all could have imagined !
